Two more Story Sacks
Two more Story Sacks have been completed and will be handed to Amanda, the Speech and Language therapist who works with pre-school children in our area. One of the sacks, Dear Zoo, was completed by Anne Taylor before she left the group, and the other I'm Not Scary has been made by Jenny Howarth. Amanda is delighted that two more will be coming her way as she says "The story sacks really domake a difference, and we show them to other professionals and parents for ideas and inspiration."Three more books have been ordered in the hope that more members will be inspired to make a sack to help these children, and one member of the group has already promised to make a sack for Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

Christmas Party
The Christmas meeting welcomed members who took part in a Snowman Drive, were entertained by some members of the committee who performed a mini pantomime, were visited by a rather sad looking Christmas fairy, selected a Christmas gift, voted for a favourite Christmas decoration and enjoyed a mince pie with their tea. Many were inspired by suggestions for Olympic postcards, and they will be working on them at the January meeting.
Casalguidi Workshop
Wynn Ingham returned to the Branch in November and led a very successful workshop. Not only did she keep us occupied with learning the stitches we needed to work our piece of work, but she kept us entertained with her sense of humour. We did not finish our piece of work, but went away inspired to continue with this enjoyable method of embroidery.

York Guild - Olympic Postcards
Elsie and I visited the York Guild on Saturday, we both did different mini workshops. Elsie made a card & I made a miniature bag ideal for small gifts. We both enjoyed the meeting having lovely Christmas cake made by a member with our tea. Kaffe Fassett will be giving a talk in September and tickets are available from January.
Pictures of their completed Olympic Postcards were on display see photographs and there was a competition for a gift bag.

WYNN INGHAM CASALGUIDI WORSHOP
Saturday 19 November from 10 am
Wyn Ingham gave us an afternoon talk earlier in the year and is returning to do a full day workshop using the Casalguidi techniques demonstrated at the talk, to make a bag. Members are looking forward to Wyn's return as she was an interesting speaker and we all enjoyed the experiment with stitches.
