Story Sacks for use in Speech and Language Therapy

The first two story sacks are presented by Anne to Alison.  The sacks will be used by Speech and Language Therapists working with pre-school children, both at Harrogate hospital and in the community.  Alison told the members of Nidderdale branch that as many as 1 in 6 pre-school children are language deficient, and that the story sacks were a wonderful idea for helping to encourage children to talk about the books that were being read to them

RETREAT WEEKEND WITH TRACY@ The Quilt Museum

The Quilt Museum and Gallery hosted a fantastic two day Retreat Weekend on 13/14 November which was enjoyed by members from several branches of the EG as well as some non-members.

Tracy Franklin taught a day of Crewel Work and a day of Goldwork techniques with a choice of designs. A sandwich lunch was included as part of the package and, of course, excellent company. We had time to look at "The Freedom to Stitch" exhibition and browse in the Museum Shop. Everyone learned lots and achieved much.
