Christmas Party

The Christmas meeting welcomed members who took part in a Snowman Drive, were entertained by some members of the committee who performed a mini pantomime, were visited by a rather sad looking Christmas fairy, selected a Christmas gift, voted for a favourite Christmas decoration and enjoyed a mince pie with their tea.  Many were inspired by suggestions for Olympic postcards, and they will be working on them at the January meeting.

Casalguidi Workshop

Wynn Ingham returned to the Branch in November and led a very successful workshop.  Not only did she keep us occupied with learning the stitches we needed to work our piece of work, but  she kept us entertained with her sense of humour.  We did not finish our piece of work, but went away inspired to continue with this enjoyable method of embroidery.

York Guild - Olympic Postcards

Elsie and I visited the York Guild on Saturday, we both did different mini workshops. Elsie made a card & I made a miniature bag ideal for small gifts. We both enjoyed the meeting having lovely Christmas cake made by a member with our tea.  Kaffe Fassett will be giving a talk in September and tickets are available from January.
Pictures of their completed Olympic Postcards were on display see photographs and there was a competition for a gift bag.
